Where to download free fonts?
We bring you a few of our favorite free font links where you can easily check if the font is free to use for commercial or personal use only.
Before you install dozens of new fonts on your computer, consider a few things.
Do you share documents with clients and colleagues?
If you send your clients open documents (eg Word or Excel), keep in mind that if they don’t have the same font installed on their computer, they won’t see the document the way you envisioned it. Please convert your document to pdf before submitting to ensure that the document will display correctly.
Will you use the font for business or personal documents?
For a professional look of your documents, we recommend that you choose simple Serif or Sans serif fonts. For personal documents, feel free to play around with handwritten, retro, decorative or commemorative fonts.
A large number of installed fonts will slow down your computer. If, like us, you’re a fan of typography, you may soon find yourself with hundreds or even thousands of fonts installed on your computer. Try fonts online and download only the ones you really want to use.
Although the fonts on the links that we present here are free, you will need to pay attention to the license if you intend to use the font for commercial use. Many fonts are free for personal use only. Pay special attention to whether the font can be used for creating a logo if you are looking for a font for this reason.
Here are a few of our favorite free font download sites.
Fontsquirrel
Maybe your new go-to address for fonts. Here you can find an already filtered database of professional fonts with permission for commercial use (except for fonts listed under the “Almost free” category). When you choose the font, under the “Test drive” option you can find a field to enter your text. On the right you can see the filtering options: select “Languages” and find Croatian to see the fonts that support our characters. One of the rare disadvantages of this site is that many of the fonts come in only one variant (bold, light, italic…), and you can buy the other versions. Most of them can be downloaded from their website, and some from the link listed next to the font.
Fontfabric
A database of quality fonts for commercial use, only some of which are free. You can find free fonts in the Free fonts category. As in the previous link, you will generally not get the full version of the font, but only one or two variants (bold, italic…), but you have the option of buying each in full version if you like it for your next project.
Dafont
Dafont has an extremely large database of free fonts in which you also have the option to try out how your text will look before you download the font. Choose a category, enter your desired text and enjoy browsing and choosing a font. To the right of each font in the list, you can see the license: whether it is free for commercial use or just for personal use. In order to immediately filter fonts that you may not use for commercial purposes, after selecting the desired font category, select “More options” in the search field and turn on the “Public domain” and “100% free” options.
Enjoy free fonts for your web, blog, social networks, catalogs and other marketing posts!
