Catalogue and brochure design — design studio in Zagreb

Zale Design Studio designs brochures and catalogues. The design includes layout, print-ready files and a PDF for the web.

What catalogue design includes

A catalogue or brochure presents your range or services to a customer who leafs through it in a showroom, at a trade fair or on screen. So it has to be easy to navigate: a clear cover, a consistent page layout and products that are easy to find.

Brochure and catalogue design includes:

  • choice of format and a page template (layout),
  • front and back cover design,
  • layout of the text and photos you supply,
  • print-ready files and a PDF for the web.

Product catalogues, brochures and publications

We design catalogues and brochures for distributors and manufacturers that publish a product catalogue every year, for fashion and design brands with new collections, and for associations and institutions that publish booklets, bulletins and annual plans.

Catalogue and brochure examples

For Credo centar in Zagreb, a distributor of bathroom and sanitary equipment, we designed catalogues of its product range, published both in print and online. For the Sitolor paint factory we designed a print and digital product catalogue, for Cadieux Paris a catalogue for a new clothing collection, and for Rotary District 1913 a booklet and roll-up banner presenting its plan for 2024/25. For the Croatian Ministry of Finance we designed bulletins, and for Verklizan, a software company based in the Netherlands, a magazine presenting its products.

How a catalogue is made

Designing a product catalogue starts with agreeing the format, page count and running order. We then design the cover and the page template and lay out every page on it. After your corrections, we prepare the file for the printer and a lighter version for the web. Large catalogues, such as Credo centar's annual catalogue, call for good organisation and precision, so it is best to have product lists, photos and prices sorted before layout begins.

See our work in the print category. If the copy still needs writing, see our copywriting service, and planning tips are in How to make a good product catalogue.

Frequently asked questions about catalogue design

How long does catalogue design take?

It depends on the page count, how much material is ready at the start and how many rounds of corrections are needed. We confirm the exact deadline in the quote; if the catalogue must be ready for a trade fair or the start of a season, mention it in your enquiry.

Do I also get a digital version of the catalogue?

Yes. Along with the print file you receive a PDF for your website or for sending by email. Credo centar and Sitolor, for example, publish their catalogues both in print and online.

Do you also design flyers, posters and ads?

Yes. We design flyers, posters, ads, price lists, magazines and roll-up banners. We price these in the quote according to format and amount of content.

Is printing included?

No. We design and prepare print-ready files; printing the catalogue is arranged separately. We're happy to recommend a printer.
