Copywriting, slogans and company names — design studio in Zagreb

Zale Design Studio writes copy for websites, catalogues, ads and social media, and creates slogans and brand names. We write alongside the design, so the text fits its space from the start.

What copywriting includes

Copywriting is writing text that sells: product and service descriptions, website and catalogue copy, ads and social media posts. Any text that explains a product or service to a customer, whether on a website, in an ad or on packaging, is copywriting. It also covers slogans and naming companies and products.

We write copy for websites, catalogues, ads and posts, and create slogans and brand names.

This includes:

  • copy written alongside the design, so it fits the space on the page, pack or ad,
  • tone and message tailored to your audience.

Who copywriting is for

Companies that have a design but no copy, new companies and products looking for a name, and brands that need a slogan people remember.

Name, slogan and copy examples

For Deezalica from Virovitica, a business that helps young people with decisions about education and personal development, we came up with the name and designed the logo. The name plays on the Croatian word "dizalica" (crane), because Deezalica "lifts" its clients to a new level of personal growth and development. We also created the name and logo for O'Brada, a men's hair salon, and for Grizli, a fast-food restaurant in Zagreb. For Goldcorn we came up with the slogan "Partner dobrom okusu" (Partner to good taste), which also appears on the company's vehicle graphics, and for REVIMED, a food supplement producer, we designed and wrote social media posts.

How we write

Before writing, we get to know the product, the audience and the competition. Because we are a design studio, text and visuals are created together.

Coming up with a company name and slogan

We keep slogans short, as a rule five words or fewer, and check that names are easy to pronounce, spell and find on search engines and social media. We also make sure a name doesn't limit future growth of the business. How we came up with the names Deezalica, O'Brada and Grizli is explained in How to name a company or product.

We refine the text based on your comments and deliver it ready for layout or publishing.

Frequently asked questions about copywriting

How long does copywriting take?

It depends on the length and type of text. A slogan or name involves research and choosing between several proposals, so allow more time than for a short text. We confirm the exact deadline in the quote.

What is a standard page (kartica)?

It is the usual billing unit for text in Croatia, roughly one page. We calculate the price from the length of the finished text, and the quote states how many characters count as one standard page.

Do you create names for companies and products?

Yes. Our names include Deezalica, O'Brada and Grizli. A good name is easy to say and spell, doesn't limit future growth of the business and is easy to find online.

Can you write the copy for a catalogue or website you are designing?

Yes. When text and design are created together, the copy fits its space from the start and doesn't need cutting later.

Do you write social media posts?

Yes. For REVIMED, a food supplement producer, we designed and wrote social media posts. We prepare the text and visuals together.
